Walter Schug grew up roaming legendary German vineyards, all the way back to Germany where his father made German pinot noir (spätburgunder, yeah baby!). This early interaction influenced the trajectory of Walter’s life, as he went on to earn a viticulture and enology degree from the world-famous Geisenheim University. He was one of the OGs to set up shop in Sonoma’s Carneros region back in the early 1980s, and the winery has consistently over-delivered ever since.
