Henry David Vineyards Pinot Noir Bennett Valley 2018
Pinot Noir | US
Nestled on the rolling slopes of Sonoma Mountain in Bennett Valley, Henry David Vineyards lies just down the road from downtown Sonoma. This new family project started with a purchase of the former “Barbed Oak Vineyard” by a husband-and-wife team fresh from the pharma industry. Fruit from this vineyard repeatedly achieved 94+ point scores from Wine Advocate, so the family made the only logical choice… keep some of the best fruit for themselves and start their own label.
The wine is a blend of three prized heritage clones of pinot noir – Calera, Swan, and Pommard. Overflowing with dark cherries, crushed raspberries, damp forest floor, espresso, and cola notes, the wine maintains the perfect balance of the richer California pinot noir style, with plenty of finesse and delicacy to grow over the coming years. Get some new blood in your pinot collection and trust your local wine merchant!
