If you’re an old school Napa fanatic, you know Beau Vigne. Robert Parker, Jr. himself called them "one of my favorite wineries" and a "true gem of Napa Valley". They crashed onto the scene in the 2000s with a bunch of huge scores. 100-point winemaker Julien Fayard (Covert Estate, Purlieu, Realm, and Lafite Rothschild, to name a few…) is at the helm here now, making a slew of new releases which harken back to the glory days! This “Hero” blend clocks in at 72% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot – all pristine polished and luscious in classic Fayard (and Beau Vigne style).

The wine leaps from the glass with a nose full of black currant, dark chocolate, blackberry preserves, and sweet pipe tobacco. The expansive palate is full-bodied, rich, and velvety with more dark berry notes, plus kirsch, black peppercorn, and alluring toasty oak sensations. This is a mouth-coating and delightfully pleasing wine that just begs for a nice grilled steak! At our truly amazing price of just $30, this is one you won’t want to miss!

91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2019 Hero Proprietary Red is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, all aged 18 months in 40% new French oak. Marked by notes of dark chocolate, cassis and cedar on the nose, it's full-bodied, rich and fudge-like, with plenty of breadth on the palate and a plush, velvety feel.
