“This reserve steps up in terms of ripeness and depth with dark-cherry, blackcurrant and violet aromas, leading to a smooth yet powerful palate that delivers plenty of rich, dark-berry flavor. Polished tannins and astute oak deployment. Drink or hold.”

“The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley Reserve is laced with black cherry, plum, gravel, lavender and dark spice notes. Powerful and broad, but with a bit more softness than the straight Knights Valley Cabernet, the Reserve is another winner in this range from Beringer.”

Beringer, the legend here in Napa since 1876 (!), expanded a bit into Knights Valley in the 60s, just north of us, and just released this fantastic new KVR Reserve with DOUBLE 93-point scores. How lucky are we? Rich, dark, powerful and loaded with blue/purple fruits with lavish toasted oak and a beautifully long finish, this drinks WAY over our price.

Beringer Vineyards has owned and farmed its Knights Valley vineyards since the mid-1960s, when the Beringer family recognized that the cobbled, rocky alluvial soils were a great place to grow high quality wine grapes. The Knights Valley designation was first used on a Beringer label in 1974. Beringer was instrumental in garnering official recognition for the area in 1983 as a premier wine growing region with the award of its own American Viticulture Area (AVA) designation.

Hey, the pros say it better than we can! While it lasts!
