What a glorious day it is for those passionate about grippy, powerful Cabs with decades of ageability ahead of them. Let's get to it, shall we?

You've likely heard of von Strasser, the winery synonymous with Diamond Mountain Cabernet, not to mention a slew of medals and 90+ scores. Rudy von Strasser led the movement to establish the AVA in 1998 and spent 25 years on the mountain crafting complex, age-worthy wines showcasing nothing but elegance and grace from this volcanic terroir. Fun fact about Rudy: In 1985, he was the first American to work in the cellars of Château Lafite-Rothschild.

This is not for the shy! This is big, brawny masculine Cabernet from the high mountain slopes of Diamond Mountain, a wine to age for a decade or more, if you can keep hands off. Dusty black cherries, cocoa powder, cassis and hints of cedar and mountain underbrush in a tightly coiled frame of minerals and ripe tannins. Enjoy this with your steaks, your winter roasts, and with an epically curated cheese plate. A must for classic Cab lovers!!

"In 1990, Rudy and Rita von Strasser found the perfect site upon which to build their winery, as wells as live and raise their three children: Diamond Mountain. An area known for producing some of Napa Valley’s most exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons. The 30-acre property was formally Roddis Estates, and next door to Diamond Creek. The first vintage (1990) was produced from the existing 6-acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and over the last 30 years we have expanded across the Diamond Mountain AVA sourcing incredible vineyards to produce our current portfolio of award winning of Cabernet Sauvignons and Bordeaux Style Reserve Red Wines."
