Normally $65, this crisp, complex, stony St. Aubin Chardonnay from reference point producer REMOISSENET is ultra-limited!
Wow! It’s rare enough to even have access to Remoissenet, but at this price and for their coveted Saint-Aubin bottling, from the terrific 2017 vintage (truly exceptional in Saint-Aubin) we bought every bottle we could find.
The dream team behind Remoissenet of Pierre Rovani (formerly of the Wine Advocate), Bernard Repolt (Maison Louis Jadot), and winemaker Claudie Jobard, have put this historic domaine front and center on the world stage. Located in the medieval walls inside the ramparts of Beaune, it is one of the coolest wineries on the planet to visit, with its ancient cellars deep underground, stacked with wines going back decades. This estate has been quietly acquiring more vineyards, which they farm biodynamically and work closely with its grower partners to farm the same way if they are not already. This is all in the service of making the best wines possible.
30-50-year-old organically grown vines make up this Chardonnay, from thin soils with the “mother rock” of Burgundian limestone close to the surface (the key to minerality in white Burgundy). The nose is SO attractive, with white flowers, key lime pie, white peach, lemon cream and the all-important rocky minerality we crave! Precise, rich, but never fat, and tuned as finely as an Indy race car. This is honestly one of the best Chardonnays that money can buy! If you don't love this wine, we will happily buy this back from you.
Don’t forget...free ground shipping on 3 or more, and ice packs incur an additional fee (we highly suggest the ice pack!). While it lasts!
