"This blend is 90% malbec and 10% cabernet sauvignon, all from the Los Arboles zone in the Uco Valley. Aged in barrels for 18 months, it maintains the red-fruit side with sour cherries from the high-altitude malbec, along with slight hints of violets. The cabernet sauvignon brings tannins, which seem sharp and firm amid layers of deep, juicy flavors and more herbal touches."

“Proof that Malbecs gain complexity with 10% Cabernet, this wine from the Uco Valley was 100% aged in French barrels. The nose of sour cherry, violet, cedar and plum notes makes for a multifaceted but clear-minded wine. Gentle with diaphanous fruit in the mouth, it makes a sugary entrance, followed by a juicy flow. This is a red based around wood, using it to lend greater subtlety and intensity without losing the fruity character.”
Double 92-pointer, normally $30...we only wish we had a bit more!
There are so many fantastic Malbecs coming out of the Uco Valley, but priced like this?! Not so much. We jumped on the opportunity to snag some cases of this luscious, juicy, structured red (it has 10% Cabernet to give it some more heft). You will love it…
