Uco Valley, Mendoza
  • SIZE

Hailing from the Uco Valley, which is known for its very, very high QPR, is this bonkers priced Malbec (55% off retail!!!). A smoking’ steal at $10 a bottle, this is a wine that will saddle up nicely to grilled and smoked meats without any hesitation.

Fabricio Orlando is the fellow behind this magical bargain. He's been in the biz for nearly three decades and started his career at Pulenta Estate with stints at Bodega Don Cristóbal and Rutini Wines. With several accolades and gold medals under his belt, he's dedicated his winemaking career to coaxing the impeccably beautiful terroir of Mendoza in his supremely delicious wines.

Vibrant aromas of black plums, blackberries and mocha leap from the glass with hints of herbs like bay laurel and a dash of eucalyptus leading to kisses of cinnamon, clove and allspice. The palate presents a decent wave of acidity that is nicely balanced with black tea-like tannins. Flavors of tart cherries, cranberries and underripe blackberries lead to a hint of woodsmoke on the finish. With the tannins and acid in this wine, it yearns for a melt-in-your-mouth Argentine steak like nobody's business. And for $10?! Worth every penny.
