Vinous, 92 points
“Translucent magenta. A highly aromatic bouquet displays black raspberry, cherry-cola, lavender and incense. A suave vanilla note builds in the glass. Sweet, seamless and lively on the palate, offering deep red and dark berry liqueur, spicecake, savory herb flavors and a hint of smoky minerality. In an ample but nervy style, finishing smooth, sappy and very long, with fine-grained tannins coming in late.”
We love John Grochau’s wines, and have sold a lot of them over the years. THIS ONE, though, was tough to get -- 92 points and half price!
This is a collaboration between winemaker, John Grochau, and grape growers, Douglas and Michelle Ackerman of Armstrong Vineyard. Armstrong Vineyard is located in the picturesque AVA of Ribbon Ridge of the Willamette Valley. This winemaking team only produces pinot noir and chardonnay that truly reflect the place with which it is grown.
