“Aromas of blackberry and cherry with flowers. Smoky. Hot stone. Medium to full body, firm and fresh tannins and a delicious finish. Beautiful now but needs a year or two to soften.”

“Starts out with cherry, iron and tobacco flavors, before firming up, with a solid structure. A kernel of fruit holds steady as this red unfolds on the lingering finish. Best from 2022 through 2036. 2,200 cases made.”
Normally $75...today $39 with free shipping on 3 or more! LA FORTUNA is one of our all-time faves - grab this back vintage right from the winery cellars!
We love it when a container from Italy lands in the warehouse -- it’s just Christmas in August for a wine retailer! Invino people, La Fortuna is a fast-rising star in Montalcino, and we scored a particularly cool parcel right from the winery: the powerful, long-lived 2013 vintage, drinking like a rockstar right now (and into the next few years, easily). WHAT a price!
La Fortuna began in 1907, with Angiolino Zannoni, Gioberto's great grandfather, growing seed crops and raising livestock. His son, Gino, followed suit, taking over in the 1950s, at a time when the economic landscape was changing dramatically and people were fleeing to take manufacturing jobs in the cities. Gino knew he wanted none of that, and so he bought the land his family was farming from the landlord. The entire estate is centered around their centuries old Tuscan farmhouse, where the family has lived for over a century.
