Normally $40! The undisputed master of Oregon/Washington Pinot Noir has a tiny, incredibly high-quality Syrah project and we totally scored on this -- $19 is simply unheard of!

This is a pretty exciting find for us here at Invino. The price, yes, but the WINE! Goodness -- Ken’s Tyrus Evan (named after his sons) Syrah is a blockbuster, serious wine in a daily, unassuming package. Prepare yourself! Sourced from the Seven Hills Vineyard, no less -- a coveted site that was planted back in 1980!

Fun fact: Walla Walla is the only American Viticultural Area to reside in two different states: Oregon and Washington! About 250 miles east of Portland, it straddles southeast Washington State and northeast Oregon, surrounded by the Blue Mountains to the southeast, the Palouse to the north, and the Columbia River to the west. This is ground zero for incredible Rhone varieties, and Syrah in particular thrives here.

This beauty is steeped in blooming lavender with dusty black cherry and black plum reduction and blood orange zest. It takes us straight to the lavender fields of Chateaunuef-du-Pape with its Provencal herb flavors, more blood orange laced acidity, ripe cherry and sweet earth nuances. It is incredibly rare to find a wine with this level of complexity and verve in the sub $20 range, especially with this kind of pedigree.
