93+pts Wine Enthusiast: Dark berry aromas include black cherry and cassis. From the village of Porrera, this is a rich and intense version of Priorat, one that's 77% Carignan and 23% Garnacha. Medicinal black-fruit flavors feature elderberry and black currant, while this is toasty and peppery across a warm finish. It will be best from 2020–2026. 

93pts Wine Advocate: The village red 2014 Porrera is mostly Cariñena with 23% Garnacha from old vines on very steep slate slopes. It fermented in 225- and 500-liter oak barrels and small stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts and with daily pigéage for some 19 days. It matured for 14 months, with the Cariñena in 225- and 300-liter oak barrels and the Garnacha in 1,500-liter oak vats and clay amphorae. It feels like the juice from the old Cariñena tolerated the oak quite well, and the wine showed better balance and freshness than most of its siblings. It's quite extracted but showed more acidity, which compensated it so that it felt more balanced, in its own XL way. 6,186 bottles were filled in May 2016.

93pts Wine Spectator: This red shows depth and power, with ripe black cherry and plum flavors mingling with floral, loamy earth and vanilla notes in a thick, firm texture. Stays harmonious and fresh. Carignan and Garnacha. Drink now through 2029. 300 cases imported.

A tribute to a village, its townspeople and its indigenous old-vines, Celler Vall Llach created their Porrera Vi de Vila to be a wine of the highest quality and a homage to the people of Porrera, a village that welcomed the winery with open arms and now defines its spirit. 

Focussing on quality over quantity, Celler Vall Llach has firmly embraced a small-is beautiful ethos of microproduction for its vineyards and "trossos". Consistent with this philosophy, the celler has imposed a ceiling on production and growth in order never to lose the personal and thorough supervision exerted over each stage of the process of wine making.


Containing aromas of warm berry pie, marzipan and Mediterranean herbs, this wine is rich and expressive in the mouth, with great structure and silky tannins.
